Habitat for Humanity
Habitat for Humanity is a non-profit organization dedicated to providing low-income families with decent housing. With a presence in more than 90 countries, Habitat has built 400,000 homes worldwide and improved the quality of life of more than two million people.
This March, with Pengrowth’s sponsorship, a group of 12 high school students from a small farming community is heading on a home-building trip to an extremely poor town in Guatemala. For some of these students, this is their first trip outside their province, yet alone Canada.
It’s an eye-opening adventure that promotes charitable giving in the youth, and helps develop their teamwork and leadership skills.
